Having visited The Foodbarn a few years earlier, we were excited to go back and this time, they surpassed all our expectations.
Still the same but different, is the best way to describe the interior, I still love the space and the fact that you don’t feel as though you just stuffed in for the sake of numbers. Diners are not on top of each other there is ample space for a romantic dinner and large group dining.
Then it came to choose, we had serious trouble as everything sounded delicious, but eventually we choose our dishes for the night. Each one better than the next, each element no matter how big or small simply superb!
Definitely one of the Top 5 meals this year!
MENU FOR THE EVENING
Prawn fritters – confied tomato, celeriac remoulade, basil vinaigrette & tapenade salsa
Raviole(vegetarian) – with wild mushroom &ricotta, fontina & truffle cream
Fish “grenobloise” (french classic) – sustainable fish pan-fried, lemon cells, croutons, tender leaves & caper cream
Short rib & kidney pot pie – slow braised in red wine with mushrooms, baby potatoes and topped with butter puff pastry
Brownie – warm dark chocolate brownie, gianduja chocolate marquise, vanilla sauce, matcha ice cream and roasted macadamia nuts
